Review: Philips Norelco Click & Style Shaver (Part II)

A few weeks ago, we did a review on the Philips Norelco Click & Style shaver, and today we’ll be talking about the same unit, but this time about some of the features which we didn’t really cover last time, such as the beard trimmer and body groomer attachments. And since we’re going to be on the topic of body hair, you might want to check out the Chest Hair Fur Coat I just wrote about yesterday.

Although I can grow a pretty respectable beard within a week or so, when it comes to my chest hair, the harvest isn’t as nice, so I had to use one of my brothers as the test subject for the body groomer attachments. I also used him when I did a review on the VISS Beauty IPL system a couple of years ago. As mentioned in the original review, the Philips Norelco Click & Style shaver is only $59.99 on Amazon and it comes with a total of three attachments. One of the attachments is the shaver, which gives you a nice smooth, close shave, without the irritation. The other two attachments we’ll be discussing today are the beard trimmer and the body hair trimmer. And it should be noted that all three attachments can be used wet or dry.

After Using the Body Groomer Attachment

In terms of styling and design, the Norelco is comfortable to hold and fits the palm of the hand just fine without it feeling awkward. It does get bonus point from me for the color scheme of black and red – which looks pretty cool in my opinion. Total charge time for the unit is about 1 hours and 40-minutes which should give you approximately 1-hour of hair trimming power.

The attachments that come with the Philips Norelco Click & Style shaver are very easy to snap on/off and it doesn’t have a flimsy feel to it.

Using The Beard Trimmer Attachment

I don’t know if you can tell in the photograph, but left side of the chest (his right) was trimmed using the body groomer attachment while the beard trimmer attachment was used on the right side (his left). You may not be able to see it in the picture but the side we used the body groomer attachment gave a really smooth and close shave/trim. The beard trimmer also did an awesome job and I would be totally happy with the results if I wasn’t comparing it to the body groomer. But since I am comparing and looking for differences, the body groomer provided a better trim and that was to be expected.

Body Groomer Attachment VS Beard Trimmer Attachment

When you have super thick hair, you want to use the heavy duty beard trimmer to mow down that hair. Once the hair has been trimmed, you can then use the body groomer to get a closer trim or if it’s the face then use the shaver attachment.

One thing I really liked about the Philips Norelco Click & Style shaver was how quiet it is when operating. The Conair iStubble is like a prop plane compared to this unit. Unlike the shaving attachment which catches most of the facial hair, the body groomer and beard trimmer attachment have no such features. It’s not a deal breaker though. The unit as a whole is a fantastic investment, especially when it only costs $59.99 on Amazon.

  1. I’m thinking about buying either Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7100 or this one – Norelco Click & Style. The thing is that the 7100 is a bit more expensive, so I think I will go with the 2nd option. I know both are great if not best body groomers at the moment.
