Represent at The World Cup: The Best Job in the World!

The World Cup is one of the world’s most thrilling sports events and, for those unlikely to represent their country in it, there’s a way to actually participate in the highs, lows, love, and pain of footballers everywhere.  Keep reading to find how why, and how, you can attend The World Cup this year…

Imagine the incredible excitement of sitting or standing close to the action on the field, watching the world’s best footballers perform their magic. Many lovers of the game dig deeply into their pockets to finance a World Cup trip because—let’s face it—this is the sports adventure of a lifetime!  (But it’s going to cost a lot of dinero unless somebody else pays for the trip, right?!)

Here are some of the players you’d get close to if you go to the World Cup in Brazil this year:

Cheer for the Home Team

If you were attending the World Cup, you’d naturally want the opportunity to observe Messi’s wizardry as he lights up the Brazilian stage:

Messi is already considered one of the very best players the world has ever known—and he’s just twenty-six years old! He’s considered “the secret sauce” that Argentina used to beat the Spanish professional league and already boasts a heavy shelf of trophies. Some refer to Messi as The Atomic Flea, but he’s never managed to get past World Cup quarter-finals… This World Cup is considered his very best opportunity to score. (He’s considered fully recovered from last year’s hamstring tear.)

Those from the U.S. can cheer for manly Clint Dempsey—also known as Captain America–because the States are finally serious about soccer. Football fans from the U.K. will surely put on a show of support for Manchester’s utility player, James Milner, in addition to favourites Steve Gerrard, Glen Johnson, and Joe Hart!

Other Key Players

Fans from other countries have their favourite players, too. Some of the others you’d want to watch—if you were attending the World Cup—would include these masters of the game:

Ronaldo, the winner of the Ballon d’Or (FIFA) is considered their best player on earth. So, for Ronaldo at least, the question of “Who’s better—Messi or me?” is answered! Though Portugal’s team has never managed to get past the “Group of Sixteen” in the past, Ronaldo says that he’s got space for new trophies…because he’s just finished up construction of his own museum.

Neymar, the greatest best hope of Brazil, is just twenty-two years old this year. And, of course, people compare him to Messi. He’s one of the reasons Brazil says it won’t suffer the humiliation of the last two World Cups this year. (Brazil didn’t make it past the quarter-finals for the past two.) Neymar is both adept at football and endorsements—he earns about $20 million a year between salary and pitchman roles.

Iniesta, from Spain, previously scored a winning goal at the World Cup finals in 2010. He’s considered a “midfield master” and earned a spot on FIFA’s XI squad every year over the past five years. Xavi Hernandez is quoted as saying Iniesta is the country’s “most complete” footballer.
