Natural Phenomena – Time-lapse by Reid Gower

The world is an incredible place, and I think that everyone should take the opportunity to see it, if they have the means to do so. But travel can be extremely expensive, and sometimes what we really want is a quick dose of beauty, both from at home, and around the world. Time-lapse videos like Natural Phenomena are a perfect way to get that.

Created by the very talented Reid Gower – the man who brought us the amazing, heart-warming Nasa promotional video The Frontier is EverywhereNatural Phenomena picks up and takes us on a journey across the globe.

Travel Inspiration from VideoSapien

I’m a big believer in time lapse video. I think it gives us a view of the world that we wouldn’t otherwise see… it gives us the bigger picture. Every time I watch amazing time-lapse footage, I’m reminded of how very connected each of us are. As many have said, and many have ignored (especially politicians), we’re all in this together… all of us.

What I really enjoyed about this was not just the staggering amount of locations that Gower filmed at, but also the quality of the work as well – both in the footage, and how he put the whole thing together. Yes, I even liked the music… I think it was fitting, and though not as emotional as the previously mentioned Nasa video, it did the trick. Now more than ever, I want to go traveling, and above all other people I blame Reid Gower for that. Reid, on behalf of my bank account… fuck you, and I say that in the nicest way possible. 🙂

If you’re interested in seeing more of Reid Gower’s work, do yourself a favor and visit his The Sagan Series website and watch all of his videos. Just do it, believe me… you’ll thank me when you’re finished. If you have even the vaguest interest in the space program and colonizing other planets, then I think you’re really going to enjoy this.
