Accomplish Your Mission With the Praetorian Hoodie by Triple Aught Design

I spent the last week exploring Toronto, Canada, and used that opportunity to review the 2014 Praetorian Hoodie by Triple Aught Design. I’m going to tell you all about it, but first… I apologize for the dead stares and looks of disgust.

It was extremely windy on Lake Ontario. It’s not anger you’re seeing in my eyes, it’s particulate from the wind. So, okay… maybe I was a bit angry.

In any case…

Praetorian Hoodie Review

It was a beautiful sunny day, and I decided to spend the afternoon on Toronto’s Center Island. As you can see, we decided to take the fairy over (sure beats swimming) and I figured this was the ideal place to put the Praetorian Hoodie through its paces. Turns out I was right.

I tend to gravitate towards technical fabrics, but over the years TAD has offered a number of garments in Merino Wool – like the Special Service Sweater – and I’ve started to warm up to the material.

TAD doesn’t just use any Merino, though, they use MAPP Certified Merino Wool. MAPP (Merino Advanced Performance Program) fabric is made using Merino fibers sourced from the cleanest and purest New Zealand alpine environments.

It’s no secret that I own a number of TAD garments, and I’m happy to say that this one is just as stylish and functional as all the others I’ve picked up over the years. I especially like the cut of the hood itself, which is why it’s amazing that I forgot to snap a shot of my own. This is what it looks like:

Now, the Praetorian comes in two colors, Heather Phantom and Heather Deception. I’m wearing the Phantom version, which very much reminds me of slate. It’s a fantastic color, and I’m hoping to see it used on more TAD garments.

Here you can see the thumb-holes while I creep on the people below. When the wind is blasting against your hands, you’ll be happy you have them.

Praetorian Guards were chosen by the Roman Empire for their skill, courage, and bravery. I may not fall among the ranks of the legendary Praetorian Guard, but I still need a hoodie that’s warm, stylish, and functional. The Praetorian Hoodie ticks all those boxes and then some.

You can pick one up for $175 USD on the official Triple Aught Design website.
