One Night/Live Them – A Night with Rémy Martin

As a male consumer of the modern age I’ve started to notice that companies are increasingly using technology to grab my attention (after all, between the gym, work and the pub, I’m the prime example of males being ever more short on time).

It seems that many brands tap into our typical interest in technology, and it’s usually best done by the brands that are actually selling tech themselves.

Yet sometimes the brands with the most heritage, and hundreds of years of business behind them, do something clever: they put together technology and history – and as it turns out Rémy Martin is one such prime example.

Growing up and moving on to being a connoisseur

As I’ve grown up I’ve moved past just the lagers to look for other options, and Rémy Martin makes for a staple drink on the shelves of many of my friends’ drinks cabinets (or cupboards, for the less sophisticated of them).

However Cognac is not a drink that I’ve previously purchased – as somewhat of a drinks heathen rather than a connoisseur – until I came across a Facebook share of Rémy Martin’s One Night / Live Them Experience. It’s a pretty neat example of how brands are harnessing entertainment to get our attention.

The One Night/Live Them Experience

remy-one-night

This Rémy Martin night out can be experienced from anywhere – on mobile, tablet or desktop; I moved from room to room whilst being shown around by Marie – my rather charming hostess for the night.

Along the way the interactions were smooth, seamless and sophisticated – something I attempt to emulate at my own cocktail parties (although the success of this is a matter of debate!). It provides plenty of taste notes, as well as allowing you to take snaps, move through the dance floor (complete with DJ) and even sees you attempting to keep your drink balanced whilst dancing. Notably I couldn’t quite manage it, which is pretty accurate stuff, actually, as I was reliably informed by Rémy Martin that dancing may not be my strong suit (again, this was particularly on point) – although Marie said she was still impressed – Cheers!

With this experience, Rémy Martin has shown how history and online/mobile edutainment should be done; with all of the cognac history I now have, I’m going to be sounding like a true connoisseur whenever the subject of distilling pops up.

Rémy Martin is made by craftsmen and artisans who are clear masters of their trade and Rémy Martin VSOP is now proudly sitting in my cupboard today. Next, it’s time for the drinks cabinet purchase, although I’m guessing I may not bump into Marie down my local bar to invite on over. Still – you can’t win them all.

The Collection: premium prizes

As well as meeting Marie, busting some smooth, non-drink spilling moves and selfie snapping the night away, this experience also offers the chance to win plenty of prizes. Known as the Collection each prize has been specially curated by Rémy Martin – such as gadgets, glassware, fashion accessories and even music equipment and accessories, which you can enter to win as soon as the night finishes.
