Motorola Moto 360 Design Contest Winner

We recently wrote about the world’s first round smart watch, the Motorola Moto 360, which uses the Google Wears technology and was presented yesterday at the Google I/O. Earlier in May, Motorola launched a contest to design a watch face for the Moto 360. The contest is over now and the winner has been chosen.

I was thinking of entering the contest but then said screw it. Besides, I didn’t want to give my brilliant artwork for free, because even if you’re not the winner, your design becomes the property of Motorola and they can choose to use it without you getting anything (or much) out of it.

Over 1,300 designs were submitted between May 21 and June 10, and the winner was David Pascual, with his design pictured at the top of the post. David gets an early version of the Moto 360 smart watch for his efforts. It’s a pretty nice design with a clean interface and all the relevant info right on the screen, without cluttering the dial.

Below are the other 9 finalists that didn’t quite make it. Most of these are pretty cool designs and these guys deserve something for their efforts…like a Moto 360 watch or maybe a round of applause?
