Mininch Tool Pen – Sleek And Handy

I came across the Mininch Tool Pen the other day and it looked like an interesting tool for my small collection of gadgets. This product was actually funded on Kickstarter in August of 2014 and is now available via the Mininch website to anyone interested in this multi-tool “pen” featuring a unique pop-a-point design for bits replacement.

We use tools often enough around the house to tighten up screws, bolts, and make minor adjustment and repairs. In my experience, sometimes getting to the tool and finding it takes longer than the actual task. The Mininch Tool Pen is perfect for those simple tasks as it’s lightweight, compact, portable, and can hold six bits. You can carry it around in your pocket or laptop bag unlike traditional tools which are heavy and bulky.

The design of the device is inspired by the mechanical pencil and the company has found a smart way to keep six bits in one place and the ability to swap bits with ease. You simply insert the most common bits for your needs into the pen and are able to easily interchange them. The Tool Pen is housed in a solid aluminum hexagon barrel body and each pen comes with 13 bits as standard but more are available to complete a set for an additional cost. A few examples include Slotted (flat), Phillips, Imperial Hexagon, Metric Hexagon, Robertson (square), Star, Pozidrive, etc.

All of the bits are constructed from high-quality, milled SAE 8660 (Nickel Chromium Molybdenum Alloy Steel). Each bit weighs in at seven grams while the Mininch Tool Pen with six bits will weigh in at 93 grams. The tool is available in three colors: Snow Silver, Gunmetal, and Champagne Gold.
