Here in Vancouver, BC, the temperate has been higher than normal for this time of the year. Homes here do not usually have air conditioning units since our summers are not considered to be all that hot with an average summer temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Of course there are the odd days where the temperature goes up to 85 degrees and those are the days where one may find the Mini Cooli useful.
The Mini Cooli is a portable hand held air conditioning unit that’s meant to keep your personal space nice and cool. The idea of a portable AC unit sounds awesome since you could use it just about anywhere. Perfect for parks, picnics, beach, camping (keeping tent cool), and even in your old car which doesn’t have an AC.
As awesome as it sounds, unfortunately it’s not all that awesome. Everyone is familiar with hand held fans. Well, this thing is pretty much the same thing except the only difference is that you are able to insert a sponge soaked in cold water and the air that moves over it is cooled. Not sure how long the sponge would stay cool but after the sponge is no longer cool, you use it just like a standard hand held portable fan.
I suppose you could kick it up a notch by simply freezing the soaked sponge in the hopes that the air will actually be cold and the cool breeze will last you a bit longer. The Mini Cooli is rechargeable via USB and is capable of running for two hours of continuous use on a fully charged battery. The device features a built-in Lithium battery, has a stainless steel frame for anti-skid, and is wind direction adjustable.
I guess you can’t expect anything fancy considering the Mini Cooli is only $17. It’s worth a try and you can buy it on Amazon.
