Mikael Marczak Using Github to Produce Debut App

Mikael Marczak is using hosting platform Github to produce and distribute his debut application which is due to be released later this year. His software project, which has yet to be named, is aiming to help simplify when and what parents should feed their children and their pets.

Speaking about his use of the platform, Marczak stated, “It’s been really cool using Github to develop my software. The amount of tools at you are able to take advantage of means that you end up developing skills you would have never previously considered. In addition, the online community means that there are always developers on hand to lend advice on your project.”

Marczak is just one of numerous young developers turning to Github to build their software. The company, which was founded in San Francisco in 2008, is an open source software platform that allows users the ability to create software and host websites. The platform supports individuals doing personal projects as well as groups looking to collaborate online. The firm offers a range of free services and tools to students looking to expand their programming knowledge. They boast in impressive list of companies that use the platform to host and create their own software, including NASA. In 2016 it had a reported 16 million active users.

Marczak was born in Athens, Greece, and immigrated to the United States as a result of the 2009 Greek Debt Crisis. As unemployment grew and the domestic economy weakened, Marczak decided to follow his lifelong dream of becoming a tech entrepreneur and move to the United States. He resettled in the world’s tech capital – Silicon Valley. Speaking on the decision to move to the United States, Marczak explained, “Leaving home is never easy, but the opportunities available to me in Silicon Valley were hard to ignore. I knew that I was a skilled programmer but staying in Athens meant that I wouldn’t be exposed to the investment or opportunities that are available in the Valley.” Marczak specializes in the programming language Python. He also has experience with Linux, Apache, Microsoft, and PHP.
