How To Make Money As A Blogger

There are so many ways to make money as a blogger and the list is almost endless. It’s important to keep in mind though that to earn any sizeable income, you’ll likely need thousands of page views. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible if you have a small amount, it just means you won’t be raking in as much money as you could.

Sponsored Posts
This is probably the biggest way to make money as a blogger, as so many companies out there are willing to pay you to promote their product to your audience. You don’t need to always contact the companies directly, as there are dozens of sites out there that are dedicated to bringing bloggers (also known as influences) to brands. Here is just a short list of the different websites you can use. Normally, you can view different opportunities and apply to them with a pitch on how you promote that specific project.

• Social Fabric
• Acorn Influence
• BrandBacker
• BlogHer
• Blogvertise
• Social Spark
• Massive Sway
Blog Dash
• Sverve
• Brandfluential

Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is probably the next most popular way that bloggers make money. There are a few ways you can do this, similar to sponsored posts, in that you can go directly through a company or use a third party that will connect you with brands. Companies like Amazon and Target have their own affiliate brands you can apply to join and then whenever someone purchases a product through one of your personalized links, you’ll get a cut of whatever it is they purchase.

Another way to do this is by joining an affiliate network, which will put you in touch with brands looking for you to add links to your site. Again, you’ll get a cut of whatever people purchase. Some examples of these websites are Flex Offers, Commission Junction, Skimlinks, and Viglink.

Google Adsense
Google Adsense is similar to affiliate marketing, but rather than having a link you instead have ads (such as banners) on your site. From there people can click on the ad and if they purchase something you can receive a cut of that. Normally people only earn pennies through Google Adsense unless you have a ton of traffic through the website and if the ads are perfect for your audience.

Sell Advertisements
Set up a page on your blog where people and businesses can purchase ad packages. This can include banner ads, sidebar ads, and, if you’re willing, social media shout outs and so on. It depends on how much traffic you have, but you can rake in up to $60 per advertisement simply through this avenue.

There are plenty of ways to make money as a blogger, it’s just a matter of finding out which avenue works well for you. Try them all, try none, but just know there’s something out there for everyone.
