Limited Edition Lotus Exige LF1

If you’re a fan of Formula One, you’ll know how terribly the Lotus F1 team is doing this year. The team barely ran any laps in the pre-season testing and they haven’t been much better during the first seven races of the season. But that was not always the case; the Lotus F1 team has won 81 grand prix over the years.

To celebrate, Lotus has produced a limited Edition Exige S sports car, called the Exige LF1. Only 81 of these cars will be available, featuring the team’s F1 livery.

The LF1 gets cosmetic upgrades only; the engine and suspension have left alone. The upgrades include the classic black and gold Lotus F1 racing paint scheme with red accents. The car comes with gold 17” front wheels and 18” rear wheels. Gold LF1 badges are placed on the front fenders and rear bumper. The same black and gold theme continues on the interior, with seats covered in black leather and “technical fabrics”, featuring gold stitching and piping. More LF1 badges are found on the interior, including an individually numbered carbon fiber plaque. Each plaque’s number celebrates an individual F1 race victory by the team, with car number 1 celebrating the team’s first victory in Monaco in 1961 and car number 81 celebrating Kimi Raikkonen’s victory in Australia in 2013.

As for performance, in stock form, the Exige is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine producing 345 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. The lightweight sports car sprints to 62 mph in 4 seconds with a top speed of 170 mph.

The limited edition Lotus Exige LF1 is only available in Europe with prices starting at £62,900 (including 20% VAT) in the United Kingdom and €65,500 in the rest of Europe. Via: Lotus
