Lazareth Wazuma GT – Batman’s Other “Motorcycle”

At the Geneva Motor Show, all types of vehicles are displayed. Many of the crazy prototypes will never make it to the market place but it’s still pretty cool to see what designers are coming up with and the potential features/design we might see in the future from any given automaker. The Lazareth Wazuma GT is one of those vehicles that caught my attention. It’s definitely not your average looking vehicle.

A while back, we wrote about the unique looking Lazareth Wazuma V8F featuring a Ferrari V8 and the French company is now back with the Wazuma GT. While the V8F was more of a “motorcycle”, the Lazareth Wazuma GT is more car-like and looks a bit more comfortable to cruise around in.

The Wazuma GT has four wheels with three points of contact with the ground (rear two wheels sit side-by-side). The two seats are situated next to each other and each person gets their own private cockpit. The vehicle features side-view mirrors and a tiny windshield (if you can call it that). What makes the Wazuma GT so special is the 4.0-liter V8 engine from a Jaguar.

The engine produces an impressive 375 horsepower an 387 lb-ft of torque which sends the power to the rear two wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. You can squeeze a lot more power from a V8 these days but with the Wazuma GT weighing in at only 2,170 pounds (985kg), you don’t need to worry about those 500+ horsepower cars which you’ll be eating for breakfast.

Not a whole lot of details are available at the moment but Lazareth points out that the driver and passenger are not required to wear a helmet. Not too sure about the rules here in North America but I would highly recommend a helmet! I don’t think a tiny pebble to the face or head at 75mph (120 km/h) would be much of a fun experience to go through.
