Land Rover Defender ‘Flying Huntsman’ 6×6 By Kahn Design

Based on the number of articles we’ve written about the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Land Rover Defender, I think it’s pretty clear that we are huge fans of these gorgeous vehicles. One of my absolute favorites is the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 and it now looks like the team over at Kahn Design are envisioning something similar for the Land Rover Defender. They are calling it Land Rover Defender ‘Flying Huntsman’ 6×6 Concept.

There are not too many details available about the vehicle at the moment but the Land Rover Defender has been stretched and features an additional axle. The stock engine has been replaced by a GM-sourced LS3 6.2-liter V8 producing 430 horsepower. The power is sent to all six wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

According to Kahn Design, the SUV will “outrun any road going SUV” thanks to its massive power, hi-lo ration drive system, locking differentials, upgraded brakes, and suspension setup. I don’t think it would outrun all SUV’s but it certainly looks more badass than most (except the G63 AMG 6×6).

The ‘Flying Huntsman” Land Rover Defender is 3.93-ft longer and 5.9-in wider when compared to the factory Land Rover Defender 110. Kahn Design is calling this vehicle a ‘concept’ at the moment but we may see something come of it in the next few months.

Which would you take if given to you for free? The G63 AMG 6×6 or this LR Defender 6×6? In terms of looks, I like them both equally but I would have to choose the Mercedes-Benz G63 6×6 as it has been built from the ground up while the Defender 6×6 has been modified. I also think the four-door version of the Defender might have been a better platform for this project but then again, I’m not an engineer.
