Jaquet Droz Year of the Goat Watches

2015 marks the year of the goat on the Chinese lunar calendar and we expect to see quite a few “Year of the Goat” themed products make their way onto the market. Watches are no exception and we’ve written about these types of watches in the past, the first Goat watches we’ve seen this year are the beautifully crafted Jaquet Droz Year of the Goat in their Les Ateliers D’Art line.

Jaquet Droz makes some of the most artistic watches I’ve ever seen, a good example is their Bird Repeater watch. Their Year of the Goat watches are no exception, with a level of craftsmanship that’s unmatched. These “Goat” watches are offered in two version, 18k rose gold and 18k white gold 41mm cases. I believe the white gold versions are for ladies, featuring diamonds on the bezel and case. The dials feature a small sub-dial for time and the rest of it is dedicated to artistry. Both timepieces come with three mountain goats climbing, what looks like, the top of a mountain or a hill.

The watches are covered with sapphire crystal on the front and back and are powered by in-house caliber 2653 automatic movements with 68 hour power reserve. The watches are limited to 28 pieces in each version. No word on prices but we expect a number well into the 6-figure territory. Via: JD
