Inspiration For A Kitchen Fit For A Boss

Hopefully, the cliched and sexist image that cooking is a woman’s pursuit has been buried forever. At least, from a mainstream point of view, it has been – TV chefs are male, as often as not. With that said, when it comes to the home, people often still think of the kitchen as a female space. It harks back to the idea that men go out and earn the money while women stay home and look after the home. This is still a cliche – for many reasons, this isn’t the way it is for everyone.

Spending time in the kitchen making good food is a worthwhile pursuit whoever you are. Eating healthily is important for staying in shape and having the energy to live the life you want. And if you’re going to commit to that, you might as well enjoy it. A kitchen that you’re happy to spend time in is essential if you’re to make it work. Whatever that means for you, some planning is in order.

1. If You’re A Boy Who Likes Toys, The Kitchen Is Your Playroom

So, here comes another cliche – but a largely accurate one. Men like gadgets. Your phone, laptop, gaming console, and the needlessly elaborate shower console in your bathroom. All of these appeal to us. The kitchen is where gadgets get really good. Cooker, toaster, fridge, kettle, all of these are staples. But you can trick it out so much more – a coffee machine, waffle iron, ice-cream maker… The possibilities are endless.

2. Spaces Have Their Own Energy

It’s a fact that the way you decorate a room has an impact on how you feel in it. Psychologists can prove that a specific color has a particular effect on our mentality. The amount of light in a room, the texture of things, all of it makes us feel more or less comfortable. Some kitchen remodeling may be to make your kitchen feel like a place where you create food and drinks. It’s often the last room you’re in before going out, so make it a place that inspires confidence.

3. A Minimum Of Fuss Is Always Appreciated

Kitchens are where food is prepared and often where it is eaten. They need to be clean and tidy and ideally well ordered. A quick snack can become a needless slog if you don’t remember where you keep the pasta. It also needs to be easy to clean, because while you don’t want to spend forever scrubbing, you also don’t want to poison yourself. So make it a fun room, but don’t make it chaotic.

In many houses, the kitchen is the room that can make a sale. People take a lot of time to ensure that their kitchen is somewhere that works practically as well as aesthetically. Getting it right for your purposes is essential. But don’t just dive in there and pick every little thing you like. Plan it all out and you’ll have a space that you’re happy to be in all the time.
