Immortals Trailer – Director Tarsem Singh Returns

Immortals tells the classic story of Greek warrior Theseus’ battle against the mad king Hyperion. Theseus has to summon the Titans to aid him, and, well… at this point you’re probably thinking that this movie sounds a lot like Clash of the Titans, the blockbuster mega-hit that I didn’t bother to go see and probably never will. You see, until now, I had never actually heard of Theseus, or his Titans, and the only Hyperion I knew of was the book of the same title by author Dan Simmons. Who I have heard of, though, is a fellow named Tarsem Sing; he directed The Cell – starring Jennifer Lopez – and I found the visuals in that movie absolutely stunning. Based on what I see in the Immortals trailer, it seems that Tarsem has added his own unique style and personality to a genre of movies that is extremely tired. If the writers manage to create dialogue that’s as interesting as the visuals, I think they’ll have a real winner on their hands.

Henry Cavill as Theseus in ImmortalsAs you can see, Henry Cavill is one handsome fellow. I’m interested to know who handled the fitness and training regimen that Henry went through. Gym Jones did an excellent job with the warriors of 300, and perhaps this is his work as well.

The Immortals stars Henry Cavill of The Tudors, and Mikey Rourke, who needs no introduction. We’ll be sure to post more details as they become available.

    • I think so too, and I can actually picture this movie being a lot more visually engaging than what Zack Snyder did with 300. Don’t get me wrong… Zack did a great job, but this looks a lot more unique to me.
