It’s been some time since ID Software has released anything even approaching a new franchise. When I think of ID Software, the first thing that comes to mind is either Doom or Quake. Though both franchises had their share of amazing titles, it’s been a long time since ID has done something new. So on that note, I present you with the trailer for RAGE, an all new IP from ID Software that features the same balls to the wall action that everyone has come to expect from an ID game, but with an added twist – racing and vehicular combat.
If any of you’ve read the Dark Tower series of books, then perhaps you’ll understand what I mean when I say that the trailer very much reminded me of the novels. I can’t say why exactly, as they share little in common save for a wasteland world, but the atmosphere itself reminds me of how Stephen King described Mid-World.
RAGE is scheduled for release this September.
