Moving to Montreal, Canada, was a bit of a shock for me. The reasons are endless, and… you may not see what that has to do with carpets, but I assure you, this anecdote is relevant. You see, no one has carpet here!
No, I don’t mean like that you filthy heathen, I mean people actually don’t bother furnishing their homes with carpet. The winters are so harsh here that a person would end up tracking in seemingly endless amounts of gravel and salt, so instead of carpets, we get hardwood floors.
See where I’m going with this?
So, although we don’t have carpet, people do here own carpets. I tend to think of carpets as items sold in criminal fronts, but they need not be so. These “glitch carpets,” for example, look amazing. They’re hand woven by one Faig Ahmed and… I would love to have one in my home.
Now, they aren’t all glitches, strictly speaking. They mostly resemble Photoshop effects, but either way, they look very interesting.
Who says carpets have to look boring?
