Glam Phone Cases – Girls Can Have Fun Too

I just got the latest iPhone 6 in gold yesterday, and I’m loving it. I’ve been an iOS girl for a few years now, but my hubby got me a Samsung Galaxy S5 as an upgrade a while back. I didn’t want be ungrateful, so I stuck with it, but I really wasn’t feeling it to be honest. He saw my frustrations over the last few months and he pulled the trigger on the iPhone 6. It sure feels good to be back home! He also grabbed two phone cases for me which is always appreciated, but the phone case market is geared too much for men and not enough designs for women.

Of course the main job of a phone case should be to protect the phone, but it doesn’t hurt if the case also happens to look pretty and match our outfits. When a guy chooses a phone case, he will either go with a design that is sleek and sexy, or something that has a rugged look. It will usually represent his persona in some manner. Why can’t women also have the same criteria?

For me, a pretty phone case should be able to compliment some of the accessories I’m wearing like earrings, a necklace, shoes, a handbag, or even an article of clothing. The problem is that when you find girly phone cases, they tend to be over the top. Especially the phone cases that seem to be very popular in Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Just becasue it’s girly doesn’t mean that it has be be covered in crystals, flowers, and Hello Kitty type stuff.

Great Example Of Terrible Phone Cases

I guess what I’m looking for in a case in not exactly girly but more on the feminine. Along with some glam and flair, a phone case in my opinion needs to meet the criteria for everyday use. My list consists of three things:

Functionality – The phone case can’t prevent me from using all of the functions as intended and I need to be able to quickly access parts such as the battery, SIM card, and SD card. Not that it would matter for an iPhone. My husband had a tank of a case where he actually needed to unscrew the case just to remove the phone from it. That’s what I call inconvenience.

Protection – While my husband’s tank phone case was over protection, those hollow rubber trim pieces that go around the outside of the phone are not exactly sufficient enough. Phones are expensive and you need to find middle ground. Even if you have no kids, accidents happen and you need adequate protection.

Satisfaction – This sounds weird but when you see your phone, you need to be happy. I don’t mean happy as in overwhelming joy but the type of satisfaction where you are glad you spent the money to protect your phone and have no regrets.

Professional – You can have a feminine phone yet still be considered professional but you will have to find that fine line though. A 29 year old woman should not have a phone case with Hello Kitty, Miley Cyrus, or Justin Bieber.
