My First Online Clothing Purchase with Mainline Menswear

I was watching the news yesterday and they were talking about online shopping, they said in a recent study about 80% of Canadians said they shop online. I think my first foray into online shopping was in the early 2000’s and even then I was pretty hesitant about safety of my personal information, I think I started buying stuff on eBay. That was back then, nowadays I buy pretty much everything online, other than food and clothes. I have been hesitant about buying clothes online because of fitment issues; you never know how small that “Small” is, until you’ve tried it. So I gave Mainline Menswear a try.

The UK-based website has a lot to offer, whether you’re looking for Armani or Levi’s they have it all and everything in-between. The website offers everything you’ll need to have a fully stocked wardrobe for the upcoming fall/winter and if you’re looking ahead to spring/summer, they’ve got you covered.

I ordered an Armani Jeans Hoodie , which arrived in a little less than two weeks; it took a bit longer than I expected but it did come all the way from the United Kingdom to west coast Canada, so not too bad. My main concern with shopping online was size, the hoodie I ordered was size Small and when I received it, I was happy that it actually fit the way I had expected it to. So I’ll probably be buying more clothes online, going forward.

Are you looking to upgrade your look and your wardrobe for the upcoming seasons? Below are some of what’s going to popular going into 2015.

This year’s combination of premium denim and casual wear with traditional office gear sends a clear fashion signal. High street designers’ reinterpretation of pinstripes and premium denim, once considered one hundred eighty degrees apart, says that “casual” and “office” go hand-in-hand. Fabrications and subtle details make statements and answers the question about how we want to dress now.

Look for edgy and slim versions of favorite jeans, shirts, jackets, and vests to make your street wear a bit more polished for the office. Everything we want to wear is fitted without being tight, skimming and exhibiting the best of the male form. If you don’t connect t-shirts, hoodies, or other garments with the idea of “fitted,” take a look at some of today’s popular designers, including Hugo Boss, Antony Morato, and Stone Island. These designers have perfected the marriage of “comfort” and “fit” and will tempt you to add some great new pieces this fall.

Think Slim, Tapered, Straight Cut Jeans (Not “Tight Jeans”)

Slim cut premium denim jeans remain the favored silhouette for this fall and next spring. According to the latest looks in New York, Paris, and London, the addition of ripped jeans—or bleached, distressed looks—adds to the casual comfort story. Mainline Menswear brings the latest looks and online shopping together for comfortable armchair shopping.

If in doubt about slim cut, think “fit to touch.” In other words, denim jeans are ankle, knee, and thighs-skinny. For athletic builds, think about premium, custom jeans or specialty wear designers. Look for “tapered cut” jeans—an easier to wear version of skinny jeans for mesomorph quads!

Although slim cut jeans really are the fashion, they’re not the best choice for all men. If you’re very tall, short, heavy, etc., “straight cut” jeans may work well for you. These roomier jeans have a lower rise than their slim cut brothers. They’re also cut wider at the hips. The legs are straight cut, rather than fitted, and won’t conform to the wearer’s calf shape. Many men prefer this cut when thinking about a pair of this season’s ultra-fashionable leather jeans.

Regardless of which cut works best for you, avoid overly free form jeans. Because denim tends to stretch over time, soak them in a light salt water solution to preserve a fresh look.

With or Without Socks

We like the look of slim cut jeans worn above the ankle, with or without socks. The addition of colored denim is one of the easiest ways to freshen the wardrobe, too. Don’t stick with tried-and-true blue. Add some black or burgundy and pair with a slim dark-hued shirt.

“Unbuttoned” Denim

The latest trends show that premium denim and accessories are anything but “buttoned up.” You’ll see straps, fastenings, quilting, and whimsical elements in jeans and jackets. A sense of wildness is conveyed with long, flowing hair and bohemian ribbons and patches is seen on the season’s latest.

Some designers have deftly combined denim and traditional pinstripes in a fresh way. Topstitched denim—commonly seen in Prada’s leather goods—and firm outlines makes us think “office casual” and “client presentation” in a new way. The emphasis of style and fabrication, in a completely unfussy way, also makes us smile. Lack of designer logos and biker shapes are tailored. The result is what we want to wear now.
