Don’t be afraid to negotiate
Working out a deal with a jeweler isn’t unheard of. Some seasons tend to be quieter than others for them, and if it’s a quiet season, you have more negotiating room. Ask for a 2 or 3 percent discount – off the cost of a ring, that’s huge. If you’re paying cash, you increase the likelihood of them saying yes to a price cut. Paying on card comes with a card fee, so if you pay with cash you can slash this cost of your total.
Choose an unorthodox shape
Unless your lady has made it clear that she wants a traditional round diamond, consider getting a different shape.
