eCool Earth Cooler – Chills Beers Underground

When I was a kid, my parents would drag me along when they would visit various friends around town. One of their friends I didn’t mind because they had a super cold creek running through their back yard. Now which kid doesn’t like playing in a creek? Even cooler (to me) was the fact this family kept all of their drinks cold by storing them in bags and placing them in the shallow creek. The creek was fed by melting snow which would explain the temperature. It did an awesome job of keeping all the juices and colas super chill without having to use up space in their fridge.

Most of us don’t have the privilege of living in a fancy home with a fancy creek but a lot of us can have access to the eCool! The eCool Earth Cooler is the world’s first environment-friendly cooler that doesn’t rely on a power source to keep its contents cold. If you have a backyard where you can bury the eCool Underground Beer Cooler in the ground, then you’re good to go.

On a nice summer day, all a guy can ask for is a delicious barbecue and some chilled drinks. Whether you drink beer or something else, doesn’t really matter. The eCool Earth Cooler weighs 12kgs (26.45 pounds), has a height of 113cm (44.48 inches), and a diameter of 22-30cm.

The entire device can hold a total of 24 cans and stay installed all year long. You can use a garden drill or a shovel to dig a hole and install the cooler. The cooler’s top is well isolated and manages to maintain about the same cooled temperature throughout the whole container.

Their website doesn’t state exactly what temperature the cans will be chilled to but I bet it has a lot to do with which part of the world you live in. Installing one in Las Vegas might have a different result than one installed in Vancouver, Canada. To get an idea of how chilled a can would be, you can always dig up a relatively deep hole in your yard and put in some cans to get a general idea.

The device probably keeps the drinks cool but don’t expect anything like a refrigerated drink unless you live in a very cold area. The eCool Earth Cooler can be purchased for $349 at the eCool website.
