The Doublefine Merino Hoodie by Outlier

It’s the start of a new year, and my wardrobe is in a very sorry state.

I believe in applying the buy-it-once method of clothing acquisition whenever possible. That means that I generally pay a lot more for my clothing than the garbage you goons pick up at Walmart, but it also lasts me many, many years.

I think I’ve got the right idea, but there’s a slight problem with my system: everything wears out eventually. Yes, even the likes of Wolf vs Goat and my latest brand obsession, Outlier.

I’m writing this post nude…

As I stand here erect, clothes-less… posture nice and straight thanks to a little help from my new standing desk, I’ve realized that I need at least a few new shirts, pants, and bits of outwear. I’m not going to bore you with the details, but instead share with you a piece that’s on my shortlist, the Doublefine Merino Hoodie by Outlier.

I found out about Outlier about a year ago after hearing my favorite author, William Gibson, gush about them, and I’ve been following from a distance ever since.

If you’re interested in learning more about the brand, start with this great interview on Carryology. In short, they make the type of clothes they want to wear, and they just so happen to be the type of clothes that I want to wear too, ie: detailed oriented, durable, practical pieces using the most sophisticated traditional and technical fabrics on the market.

The Doublefine Merino Hoodie uses a double-faced 18.8 micron grade of merino which is, by all accounts, so soft that you’ll only have a minor stroke when you realize that you just paid $275 USD for a hoodie.

I kid, I kid… worth every penny. I may not be eating for the next few weeks, but at least I’ll be really, really warm!
