Dottling Guardian Travel Safe

We’ve written quite a few posts on some very large and expensive watch safes made by Dottling.  Today we bring you another safe by Dottling, however, this one is very small and portable but still very expensive (I’m sure), the safe is called the Guardian Travel Safe and it can be used to store/carry watches and other small valuable items.

From the outside, the Dottling Guardian Travel Safe doesn’t even look like a safe; it looks more like an expensive thermos.  The exterior measures 13.8 inches (35 cm) in length and 5.3 inches (13.3 cm) in diameter and weighs 4 kilograms.  The exterior is covered with high quality leather and comes with a handle and a shoulder strap.  Like many luxury products available in the marketplace these days, the exterior of the Guardian safe can be individualized to customers’ taste with different types of leathers, colors, and stitching patterns.

The inside features some very high-tech materials to keep your watches, jewelry, money, and other important documents safe.  In the leather case there is a small vault door, just like the doors on bank vaults, which needs a 3 digit combination to open.  Behind the door there is a tube for up to six watches that’s wrapped around in a fabric with pockets for jewelry, cash, credit cards, and other small valuables.

The cylinder inside the leather case is built into the leather and is made out of top-secret materials including carbide, which is as hard as diamonds.  Other materials used to make the Guardian Travel Safe hard to cut through includes aramid carbon fiber fabric, the same stuff that’s used on bullet proof vests and layers of polycarbonate, the stuff used on riot shields.

All these high-tech materials ensure that your valuables are safe inside the Guardian safe and it will take quite a lot of time, effort, and force to open the safe – which brings us to the last safety feature of this portable safe, a GPS tracking device that lets the owner know precisely where the safe is.  By the time the thief is able to get to the goodies inside the safe; the owner’s security team should have located the perpetrators and taken them down.

No word on prices on the Dottling Guardian Travel safe but knowing Dottling and the high-tech materials used, I’m sure it’s quite expensive.

Update:  The Dottling Guardian Travel has a starting price of €12,000 (about $15,800) for the base model which comes with quilted calf leather exterior, customers can pick from a set of available colors.  The next higher level model is priced at €14,500 ($19,000), it’s covered with black shiny or matte saltwater crocodile leather and the top of the line model is priced at €18,000 ($23,700) covered in saltwater crocodile leather but it comes in a variety of pre-selected colors.
