Despite all the war, violence, and lack of understanding in the world, I believe the future looks pretty bright for the human race here on Earth, and hopefully one day, on other planets too.
It’s exciting to imagine a vibrant future, full of wealth and technologies beyond our wildest dreams, but it’s also fun to imagine dark worlds… post apocalyptic worlds, even, where we made poor decisions. We don’t want to live in those worlds, but they make for some incredible imagery.

Yuri Shwedoff, a Russian artist who graduated from the Moscow Academic Art Lyceum of the Russian Academy of Arts in 2008, clearly has a mind and talented for creating dark imagery of these dark but completely plausible (in most cases) worlds. Here’s a small collection of his work:
