Create a Thunderstorm in Your Home With a Cloud Lamp

Do you remember when you were a kid, and you would pull your teddy close and cower under your blanket as thunder roared in the distance?

No? Me neither. Anyone scared of thunderstorms is a big baby or a dog, and the dog is the only one that has a legitimate excuse. Me? I loved that crackle and flash in the distance as a child. I was always so excited when a storm blew into town, because they were so rare where I grew up.

As an adult, little has changed in that respect, and arguably many others… I still love thunder and lightning. In fact, I like it so much that I considered buying this beautiful Cloud Lamp, until I saw the price of course.

Designed by Richard Clarkson, the Cloud uses both light and sound to create a realistic thunderstorm in your home. When you’re not going for rolling thunder, you can adjust the colors and brightness of the light, and even stream music to the lamps built-in speakers via Bluetooth.

The puffy cloud-like material was made by felting hypoallergenic fiberfill to the sponge casing housing the lights and other electronics. Perhaps you’ll agree that the end result looks very much like an evil cartoon cloud from The Smoggies – which you’ll know if you’re Canadian – or perhaps Captain Planet.

Yes, this really does look terrifying, and one of these evil clouds could be yours for a measly $3,360.00! But don’t worry, shipping is free in the United States.

If you’re looking to spice up your bedroom with something truly unique, head over to the Richard Clarkson website and order the Cloud. After that, please send me your own video or photos of it hanging in your place. I can’t own one, so I’ll just live vicariously through you.
