Your Cookbook Can Make You Hot, Sweet, and Attractive

I’m a self-confessed foodie. When I’m not eating food, I’m thinking about it or planning to eat it. I’m on a constant quest to learn more about nutrition and don’t believe in deprivation. In fact, many Unfinished Man readers know that I advocate eating more food. What’s more, if I really, really crave comfort food, like Berry Crisp, I eat it and don’t stop until my cravings are satisfied! Sometimes, I even add a generous dollop of crème fraiche or real ultra-high butterfat whipping cream on top. Ymmmmm.

Since this is no doubt another of my guilty pleasure confessions, it’s clear that I am obsessed with food. At the same time, I’m obsessed with the love of my life, exercise, learning, and doing more for humanity at large.

My Cookbook Obsession

My cookbooks are like the guides to my kitchen. Sometimes, I may not use them, but I know they’re there to inspire and show me the way.

I love cookbooks, but not the cookbooks that lined the kitchen shelves of my parents’ home. I’m not a Julia Child buff because, really, who needs all that butter? The kind of cookbooks that I love are also much less about the “how to” make this complex recipe as “show me how to make a healthy, delicious version” of my favorites. That’s why see—make—eat cookery works for me!

I also want to try new dishes, and I’m currently on a quest to expand the numbers of foods we eat every week. My goal is forty different foods over seven days! It’s not as easy as it sounds, because most of us tend to make some of the same choices every day.

So, I want to make Moroccan lamb but I’m not so much into the reading about the complex twists and turns of “how to.” I believe—and many of the culinary masters believe—that healthy and incredible meals are possible for everyone. Thankfully, this is an absolute truth.

So Many Cookbooks… On My Tablet

I’m all about carrying my favorite cookbooks on a tablet or phone, because I don’t do shopping lists, either. Since the best digital cookbooks are also incredibly inexpensive, I can read and eat to my heart’s content!

Since my mobile devices are always with me, it’s simple to scroll through the ingredients I need for the meals I’m going to make for an entire week. I plan every morsel that’s going into our mouths.

If you ask my significant other what he thinks about my obsession with food, he will say “Oh, you know, it’s really cute.”

Why Eating Well is Important to Your Attractiveness

But what he really means is, “I love every meal, and I especially love how neither of us gets fat from enjoying the best meals ever.” He will never say these words but I know that he thinks them. One afternoon not that long ago, I overheard a guy he knows complaining about how fat his wife got after their wedding. He simultaneously complained that his wife doesn’t shop or cook. They rely on take-out and restaurant meals. He’s gained twenty pounds but she’s gained… who knows?

I understand that everyone is really busy today. Most of us work, and earning a living is something that all of my friends must do. I’m lucky to work at home. I do spend a couple of hours every day thinking about food, but I’d probably spend those hours commuting if I weren’t so focused on our health and attractiveness. People in committed relationships think about these things but, even if I weren’t with someone I adore, I would want to eat well to feel good. Or, as one of my favorite cookbooks says “Eat Good, Feel Good.” Andrew Kissee, one of my favorite culinary authors, gets everything just right yet again! (I love his “Simply Cookies,” “Simply Salads,” “Simply Pancakes,” “Cooking Around the World”—you get the idea— cookbooks, too.)

Staying Fit

I know, a lot of people think it’s too much work to get fit and stay that way. Please consider taking a little time each day for you and those you love because it’s so much easier and better for you in the long-run. We will take billions from the balance sheets of weight loss companies, but that’s something I’m okay with. Your health, fitness, sexiness and attractiveness are in your hands (and your spoon)!

Let me know your favorite cookbooks and, if you decide to try Andrew’s books, drop a line about your favorites!
