Fine Living

Most people enjoy the finer things in life, such as a pint of beer on a hot summer day, or an attractive, scantily clad woman bending over to retrieve her car keys. However, some people crave fine things of another type; gadgets, gear, travel, and even the occasional cooking recipe are all topics you’ll find under our fine living category. Chances are you’ll see a picture of the occasional scantily clad woman as well.

The-Rifle-Umbrella-Worlds-Coolest-UmbrellaWe have talked about quite a few umbrellas here at Unfinished Man, obviously those umbrellas were cool and that’s why we posted them here but the Rifle Umbrella by Brando takes the prize for the “world’s coolest umbrellas” in my humble opinion.

Rifle-Umbrella-Brown-Butt-EndI’ve never seen an umbrella that excited me this much, just look at this thing; it’s an attention getter and one of the most creative umbrellas ever!  It’s made to look like a rifle with a wooden rifle butt-end and a rifle barrel at the top (or bottom, depending on your point of view).  There is also a functional trigger, unfortunately it doesn’t fire bullets but instead it is the trigger for the umbrella’s opening mechanism. continue reading →

Unique Design of Piaggio Aero Avanti II P180

Claiming to be the Ferrari of the sky is a bold statement but then again Piaggio Aero does sponsor the Ferrari Formula One team and Scuderia Ferrari flies with the P180 Avanti II aircraft. At the moment, the P180 Avanti II is the fastest turbo prop aircraft in the world.

Not only is the airplane the fastest in its class but also the most affordable, most fuel efficient, and possibly the most luxurious for this class of aircraft. As a matter of fact, the P180 Avanti II can even match or exceed the performance of many of the turbo jets in this class. Besides all of these cool achievements, I can confidently say that this plane is the most handsome looking turbo prop that I have ever seen with its very unique placement of wings. continue reading →

Velocity Aircraft Do It Yourself home made plane

Everybody that knows me is already well aware that I’m fascinated by aircraft and anything aviation related. I’ve been considering purchasing a kit helicopter or aircraft and I came across this Velocity Aircraft. The type of aircraft I was looking for was actually Radio Controlled aircraft but the Velocity Aircraft is so much cooler.

The kit from Velocity Aircraft is a DIY job but unlike an RC Aircraft, this thing can actually fly four passengers along with light cargo. The company’s business is based around selling “experimental aircraft” kits that can easily be built in your own garage. And when I say easily, I actually mean “easily”. You don’t have to be an aviation expert as the company offers a comprehensive manual which also includes videos and a hotline just in case you royally screw it up. continue reading →

iPhone projector capable of 70" inch image

Having a smart phone is great when it comes to watching random and ridiculous YouTube videos but not everybody has a phone that is capable of playing videos. Or if they do, some people have expensive data plans and they have to be careful how much data they use up. Showing multiple friends the same video can be annoying when watching it on a small screen. So what’s a man to do in such a situation?

Simple, go and purchase the Mili iPhone Projector 2. This awesome projector is capable of projecting images up to 70” wide. The Mili Projector 2 is not only limited to the iPhone but also compatible with the iPod, Blackberry, and most other smart devices that have video playback capability. This is an excellent way to share videos, photos, and slideshows with a house full of people. The quality of the projection is pretty good thanks to its LCoS which refers to the Liquid Crystal on Silicon and the LED-driven micro projector which can display a 640 x 480 VGA images. continue reading →

100% Water Proof Ipad case

A while ago we brought you the super tough iPad Extreme Sleeve which is capable of taking one hell of a beating but now we’ve got one that can go deep under water. Yep, you heard correct. Not water resistant, but 100% water proof or so they say.

Thanks to Overboard’s Slide Seal system, the iPad is submersible for up to six meters. By simply moving the four sliders to the closed position on the pouch, the gadget inside will be 100% protected. And with the clear window, you can still use your iPad’s touch screen functions underwater. Not too sure how well the Wi-Fi reception is down below but you can at least save a draft of an e-mail before some crazy sea creature takes you down. Another added bonus is the fact that this iPad case will float in the water.

The Overboard Ipad Case will set you back £34.99.

Hands free umbrella worn on the back with a pack

Here is a somewhat less embarrassing version of the Hands-Free Umbrella Messenger Bag. Rather than wearing the bag on the front, this one is worn on the back and is still able to offer protection from rain, sun, and bird droppings.

The umbrella fits into a pack that is strapped to the back. The pack slips over the shoulders and you are able to secure it around the waist with a plastic buckle. When opened, it is able to cover a little over 39-inches of diameter with its polyester canopy. I like the fact that it is worn on the back but as you can see in the picture, there seems to be a lot of wasted space in the rear. This gives random creepers an opportunity to sneak up behind you and take cover in the rain without you even knowing it. Sharing is caring but I don’t want some dude walking right up behind me. continue reading →

Most expensive champagne in the world bought in singapore

An anonymous Singaporean is one step closer to becoming a finished man (or woman) as they have just purchased a bottle of champagne for a whopping $43,630. This was announced by Acker Merrall & Condit who are a premier wine auction house. The auction took place at Mariehamn, Åland where the company sold two of the world’s oldest bottles of champagne which were salvaged in 2010 from a 19th century shipwreck off the Åland Islands.

The anonymous internet bidder from Singapore outbid an American bidder, Robert A. Rosania, who is famous for his collection of fine champagne from all over the world.

That Singaporean better get every little drop out of that bottle.

Amazing gun replicas by Alexader Perfiliev

If you are a true gun fanatic then you most likely love attention to detail and can appreciate the time and effort it takes to create a beautiful gun which involves fine craftsmanship to get a complete product. If you happen to be one of those people that are very picky about the small details then you will love the work of Alexander Perfiliev of Russia who has been creating miniature gun replicas for over 30 years now.

It’s not until you have a closer look at the work when you realize that Alexander is serious about his creations. For example, the Mosin Rifle (pictured below) is a complicated weapon and it took him one year to get it right. He didn’t have access to fancy equipment or even a power drill. He started off by only using a primitive hand brace back in 1970. continue reading →

Money-Shredding-Alarm-Clock

Are you the type of person that keeps hitting the snooze button every time the alarm goes off?  While you do get a bit of extra sleep, you’re most likely in a major rush when you do finally decide to get up and then not have enough time for breakfast and a shower.  You’re not only going to be hungry but you are also going stink when you do finally get to work.

We may have a solution for you; check out this alarm clock that shreds money if you don’t get up in time to stop it.  I don’t know about you, I like money and would gladly jump out of bed on time to avoid my precious benjamins from being shredded to pieces.  Don’t go running to your local gadget store though, this is a gag product and only a concept but clever nonetheless. continue reading →

Dock fan for iPhone iTouch and iPod

Only within a few weeks, it will officially be summer. Unlike us schmucks in Vancouver, BC, some of you folks have been fortunate enough to get the summer heat ahead of schedule. But this at least gives me some time to order my iPhone Dock Fan. The CoolWare Personal Cooling System might work better but it really looks awful when you wear it.

This one is almost as fruity as the CoolWare and I actually picture a little Asian teenager with this dock fan and her Hello Kitty accessories (not that there is anything wrong with that). The design of this is pretty much the same as any portable fan that relies on AA batteries and hooks up to the iPhone for power rather than the standard batteries. The fan features soft urethane plastic blades so you don’t cut your fingers or face. continue reading →
