Gadgets & Gear
It took most of us here a while to really dig into the world of hand-held gadgets, such as cell phones and gps units, but now that we have, we’re hooked. I finally understand why so many people gush over these crafty devices, and you’ll find many articles outlining our experiences with the newest toys on the market, as well as hacks and tricks to improve them.

My first car was a Mini Cooper S which I sold recently, that car has a special place in my heart and lately I’ve been thinking of buying one of the original “real” Minis. But I doubt I’ll go through with the purchase, instead I might just pick up one or two of the Zero Basic Mini Cooper USB Flash Drives. Sure, it’s not the same thing but I do need a USB drive and it’s a lot cheaper than an original Mini, so why not make it a Mini Cooper USB flash drive. continue reading →

Snowboarding season is still in effect and the guys over at Pirelli, Italian tire-maker, and Burton (snowboarding gurus) have teamed up for a little project. I wasn’t aware that a tire maker and a company that makes snowboarding gear would collaborate to make a limited edition snowboard. But then again, Pirelli does make some badass snow tires.
The project in question is the ‘Pirelli Pzero x Burton’ which will feature high performing Pirelli outsole built with Pirelli’s signature rubber compounds and a special tread pattern for optimum traction on the slopes. These snowboards are some of the lightest in Burton’s portfolio and will feature lightweight Burton Pirelli diode EST bindings which will provide superior comfort and performance for riders. continue reading →

I never thought I’d find a computer mouse sexy, but here we are and I say “this is one sexy mouse!” The mouse in question is the Logitech Touch M600 Touch; it’s like one of those fancy Apple mice without buttons that you see at Starbucks next to those fancy laptops.
As cool looking as the M600 Touch mouse is, it’s nothing too special. It’s basically a trackpad (those things found on laptops) shaped like a mouse. You swipe your finger across the surface to move the cursor and click it. The Logitech Touch M600 mouse uses one AA battery that lasts for about 3 months and if you want to double that to 6 months, there is a slot for a second battery. continue reading →

A while ago there was a company called Ion that created the iCade, an arcade cabinet that turned an iPad into old school arcade machine, now the same company is selling the iCade Jr. (price TBA), you guessed it, for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Just like its bigger brother, the iCade Jr. comes with a joystick, four front buttons, and four rear triggers. The iCade Jr. connects your iPhone/iPod via Bluetooth and has a pass through slot at the back that lets you charge your gadget. If you’re feeling nostalgic, pick up one of these great little devices and start playing the many classic Atari games available at the App store.

Whether or not you’re a Watchmen fan, this awesome real Rorschach mask is enough to make any guy cackle with glee over its potential. What the picture above is showing you is that it’s a well made, good looking Rorschach replica mask that you DIDN’T have to jury rig yourself out of pantyhose and children’s paint- what it’s not showing you is that breathing inside the mask activates a special ink that fades in and out and “changes” the inkblot randomly. How freaking cool is that? continue reading →

If you’ve ever traveled on a rural road or watched an episode of American Pickers, you’ve most likely seen old cars with missing parts, rusting in peoples’ back yards. Now an Etsy seller called “Classic Wrecks” brings those rusted cars into your home with 1:24 scale model cars. The cars come complete with missing parts such doors, hood, and engines, broken windows, faded paint, and of course, RUST.
It’s safe to say, none of these cars come with hazards such as snakes, hornets’ nest, and other animals you might find living in the real rusted old cars. According to the sales page, new models are added daily and they also do special orders based on your preferred cars. continue reading →

People go camping to get away from the city and for the most part – leave a lot of their fancy high-tech gadgets at home as most camp sites don’t have electricity. But wouldn’t it be pretty sweet if you could use the heat from a fire to charge your gadgets such as phones or tablets? I think so!
The BioLite CampStove does just that. Not only does it heat your food but charges your device(s). The heat generated from the stove is converted into electricity and you are able to charge various devices with a USB connection. Using heat to produce electricity is not the only cool feature the BioLite CampStove has to offer. continue reading →

With the sad state of the US economy and over 1.3 million home foreclosures, this affordable “house” that can fit in your pocket is probably not a bad idea just in case you need an emergency shelter. Hopefully none of our readers have to go through such a terrible experience.
The pocket-sized portable “house” is the creation of Martin Azura, a Barcelona based designer, whose work focuses on being minimalistic and environmentally friendly. The so-called “house” is basically a large balloon that can fit in your pocket and be used as a shelter in case you can’t make it home and decide to sleep outdoors or something like that. continue reading →

To the trained eye, a cufflink is a small accessory that can have a big impact on the look of your shirt and suit. It’s an accessory that most guys don’t own but probably should just because it’s a nice finishing touch and perfect for special occasions. They can range in price from a few bucks all the way into the 100’s of dollars depending on the materials used and the brand.
And if you happen to be that guy who is going to drop major cash on a pair of fancy cufflinks then you might as well spend it on cufflinks that have multiple uses. Besides looking all fancy, these Polished Silver Oval cufflinks also act as a high speed WiFi hot spot and a 2GB USB storage device. continue reading →

Months ago, I decided to start looking around for a new fixed blade knife. I’ve owned dozens of blades over the years, but almost all of them have been folding knives. They’re a great style of knife, but there’s something uniquely satisfying about owning a good, solid fixed blade. A blade that would be tough enough to endure the test of time, and that I could one day hand down to my children – if I were ever insane enough to have some. After a whole lot of searching, I stumbled onto a company called Grayman Knives.
Grayman Knives is a mom-and-pop style knife making operation run by Mike Grayman out of Lake Arrowhead, California. After retiring from the military, Mike spent years distilling the knowledge he acquired on the continue reading →
