Mens Guide To Entertainment, Fitness, Fine Living, and Becoming A Finished Man
Clothes
Mark Twain once said that clothes make the man, and that naked people have little or no influence on society. We’ve opted to cover both parties, as we happen to think that naked women are pretty damn cool. However, in this category you’ll find numerous fashion tips, clothing reviews, and lots and lots of denim pictures. Like… so many.
I was recently contacted by a gentleman from advertising agency Neoco on behalf of Topman Denim regarding a series of short films Topman has done to, presumably, showcase their products; someone must have tipped them off that I have a real hard-on for denim. The films are directed by photographer/director Laurence Ellis, and feature young protagonists Louis, Henry, and Sid wearing tight fitting jeans and doing exciting activities such as riding their bicycles to school, and skateboarding intently.
The full featured films are scheduled to drop on October 4th.
As much as it sucks that summer has come and gone, there are a few things to get pretty excited for the fall season; hockey, winter seasonal beer, and of course, busting out the leather jackets. Finding that perfect leather jacket is an adventure on its own. Trust me, I’m in the midst of it myself. But if you had to resort to just one company, there is none other than Belstaff. continue reading →
Yes, you two can look like you stumbled out of a time travelers D&D event.
As mankind’s ability to create new and exciting technology races forward, so too does our ability to create seemingly simple items like clothing in new and efficient ways. It’s in that thread that I present to you… clothes… that look like… plastic… chain-mail?
I’ve never been a fan of shopping for clothes, at least in person. To any of my friends reading this, that news may come as some surprise. I have closets of meticulously chosen clothing, all having been decided upon after weeks of research. You see, I love the clothes, but not the shopping. I have a feeling that a lot of men feel as I do; that the end result (the purchase) holds much more satisfaction than continue reading →
As a former sport bike rider and a fan of the Iron Man comics and movies, I just had to review the Mark V Iron Man leather motorcycle suit. Now you can look like a super hero and ride safely on your motorcycle, at a cost of $850.00, which is not too bad, considering a regular motorcycle leather suit goes for around the same price.
The Universal Design Iron Man suit provides the same level of protection as a regular leather suit but in style and you also get to have a glowing chest arc reactor. Unfortunately the suit doesn’t come with the cool looking suitcase shown in the pictures. To complete the Tony Stark look, riding boots and gloves are also available for $189 and $60 respectively. continue reading →
It’s only in the last decade or so that new clothing fibers (such as bamboo) have been gaining prominence in the world of fashion and clothing design, and now a UK based designer has taken this one step further with a new process used to generate clothing from bacterial cellulose. Yes, the clothes really are grown in large vats, and yes, they look creepy — almost like the skin of a decrepit old person.
You know, I have an odd fascination with socks. There’s just something about seeing stack upon stack of them in the store that really does it for me. Like any other piece of clothing, I can appreciate a good sock, and I think I’ve finally managed to find the master sock… the grand sock, if you will.
I’ve noticed over the last while that a lot of people have become obsessed with shoes that replicate being barefoot, and based on the research, they have the right idea. Vibram has released a slew of shoes that are continue reading →
If you’re one of those people that love getting attention because of the clothing you wear than I might have something just for you. I was checking out T-Shirt Hell the other day and they have some hilarious T-shirts for sale. Before you head that way, you better make sure you have a sense of humor. You are guaranteed to stand out in the crowd if you rock one of their shirts. The prices for the shirts range from $19-22, plus shipping. Speaking of prices, these shirts are an excellent birthday gift for both guys and girls. Have a look below to see some of the examples. continue reading →
I want to forewarn you that I’m somewhat of a clothing snob, but I promise that the suggestions I’m about to expand upon are useful to everyone who wears clothes, even if they come from Wal-Mart. If you don’t wear clothes, you may as well stop reading right now. I’ll be releasing A Practical Guide To Making Skin Last Longer at another point in time.
Mainstream North Americans seem to have a deep and unwavering phobia of germs. Maybe it’s the news and it’s constant bombardment of scare stories involving super flus, or maybe people are just continue reading →
If you thought the “Three Wolf Moon” t-shirt was awesome, you’re going to shit your pants when you see the “Three Ewok Moon” t-shirt. Oh wait, that’s not the moon, it’s the Death Star!
I’ve heard countless stories of average looking men, in the southern states, getting lots of action from ladies just because they were wearing the Three Wolf Moon shirt. Now with the Three Ewok shirt, geeks around the world can enjoy the same thing and write about their adventures with the opposite sex. I can see the appeal in these “Moon” series shirts, heck, if I was a girl and saw a nerd wearing a three Ewok shirt; the question on my mind would be “your place or mine?”
To all the fathers out there, lock up your daughters because the nerds are coming.
If you’re like me, you like to dress sharp. It’s not the cost of the clothes that matters, but the quality. The problem is that high quality clothes usually come with a high price tag. The good news is that if you’re patient and don’t mind wearing last seasons styles, you can save a pile of money by purchasing your clothes at sample sales.
Sample sales are usually organized by vendors looking to sell off extra merchandise, or merchandise used as samples to show local retailers. This merchandise (usually shoes and clothing) is almost always flawless, but sells at continue reading →
