Entertainment

Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here? I’m guessing it is, because what man doesn’t enjoy the latest in film, music, and anything else that a person would consider interesting or funny. We write everything ranging from album reviews, to gaming previews, to critiques of the latest Uwe Boll film.

Eidos has done an amazing job communicating with the community in the form of videos, screenshots, interviews, and tweets from the ever hilarious Jonathan Jacques-Belletête. If you haven’t looked at Jonathan’s Twitter and Tumblr accounts, you’re doing yourself a real disservice. But that’s not what this post is about. Eidos just released a new developer diary for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and this one is all about the game’s many locations. We get a deeper glimpse of Montreal and Heng Sha, as well as an overview of the extraordinary feats that the Eidos team went through to make sure that the world of DE:HR is completely continue reading →

KRK-KNS-8400-MicrohonesLET’S FACE IT

I know you want to buy that shit, those Beats with their hype fed to you in bulk colorful packaging, droppin’ names like Bieber n’ Dre, and pushing more low end than your back trunk just so you can feel all gangsta!

….BUT WHY BUY THE HYPE?

If you didn’t already know, Beats by Dr. Dre suck! Even the clueless employee at Best Buy seemed to want us to believe they were good. Really? I mean I know half the population is now listening to their low-bit mp3′s on white apple earbuds and nobody cares about the fidelity anymore except the crazy guys willing to spend $10k on a speaker cable because they think they can hear the difference. (There’s a law of diminishing returns here guys and girls.) Cable is cable is cable is cable, like a rose is a rose. Oh, unless we are talking about Monster cable (who makes Beats ironically)…Oh snap! But I digress… continue reading →

Cool Retro NES Controller to store data

Like many of my friends in their mid to late 20’s, my very first video gaming system was the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). There are still groups of people that collect and continue to play games for the NES and the Super NES.  But unlike my friends, the little video gamer boy that I once was is no longer here. I gave up video games a long time ago but I still wouldn’t mind picking up one of these NES Controller USB Drives to remind me of my childhood and the simpler times.

The original NES Controller has been repurposed into a USB external storage drive ranging from 4 GB all the way up to 32 GB. Yes, it’s a little on the geeky side but it’s pretty cool to have just for the nostalgic factor. Below is the price breakdown. continue reading →

all rocks go to heaven
As most of you know, I’m a rather religious fellow. I started following the ways of Vishnu, and his brothers Jesus and Allah many years ago, and their teachings have never steered me wrong. The problem with religion, though, is that there just isn’t enough friendly competition. Religions the world over have worked together peacefully for so many millenia that I’m starting to feel like they’ve lost their sense of competition, and that’s why I’m so happy to see these two churches competing. They both feel strongly about a topic, and they’re making their opinions known. They don’t waste their time discussing useless topics like poverty and violence, and instead chose to shed light on a question that has haunted humanity since the dawn of time; do animals truly have souls? Do all dogs go to heaven?

only humans go to heaven, read the bibleApparently not; it seems that all creatures save man are barred from entering the pearly gates. Heaven only has a limited amount of real estate, and filling the place with continue reading →

The lengths that some people go to lose a few pounds of weight never ceases to amaze me. There was a time when a person would decide that they’re overweight and actually, you know… lift some weights, or eat less, or go play a sport. Now the world is full of crash diets, and tape-worm filled pills, and insidious exercise machines such as the shake-weight. But fear not, because now there’s a new way to lose weight using the power of horse movements! Yes, you read that correctly – horses. People wander around a gymnasium cantering and trotting and otherwise acting like a horse. I can’t decide whether to laugh or cry. I’m glad that people are getting off their ass to actually exercise, but horses… really? Watch the video and decide for yourself. continue reading →

Deus Ex Human Revolution Achievement Unlocked

As most of you have probably realized now, I’m a PC gamer first, and a console gamer as a very distant second. There’s now a partial list of acheivements for the Xbox360 version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and while I have no intention of playing DE:HR on a console, I can certainly appreciate some of the awesome achievements that Eidos came up with. You get the typical achievements such as “Fully upgrade one of your weapons“, but you also get tons of awesome ones, such as “Help a lady in the oldest of professions clean house.” – hmm, clean house indeed. I also quite like “Deal with Mr. Carella’s indiscretion.” – something involving horses south of the border I imagine. There are also a number of secret achievements, and I have a feeling that that’s where we’ll find all the really crazy and inventive ones.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution arrives this August for PC, Xbox360, and PS3.

(Success Full – Deus Ex: Human Rev. Achievements)

This is one of the catchiest songs I’ve heard in months. I had no idea that this group even existed until I heard the tail end of this song a few times on the radio. Now that I’ve heard them, I’m hooked, and I’m looking forward to buying a copy of their first album – Torches. These guys sound a lot like Gorillaz to me, but they certainly don’t share their visual style. These guys remind me of a bunch of surfer boys dressed like hipsters, at least if this music video is any indication – and speaking of the music video, I have no idea what the video content has to do with the song, if anything. There are no bullets, or outrunning of bullets – just hipsters playing billiards and wandering around and pretending to sing.

You can find out more about Foster The People on their official website, including live shows and samples of their music.

Serif Industries Adam Jensen's Mechanical ArmWhat you see here is a scale model of Adam Jensen’s mechanical arms from upcoming Eidos Montreal title Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As you can see, this thing looks fucking awesome. I saw this posted up on JBB’s (Jonathan Jacques-Belletete) Tumbler feed and just had to share it with you guys. What’s even better that a picture? A video. You can see a great video of the arm featured on said tumbler feed.

I don’t know which company actually build this for Eidos, but they did an amazing job on it. The arm looks accurate to the game, and not only that, it looks sturdy and functional. JJB, if you’re reading this, please figure out a way to offer these to the public. I’ll hang it on my mantle, just below the tasteful nude oil painting of myself.

Amazing celebirty lookalikes

Have you ever been told that you look like a celebrity or that you remind them of somebody? If somebody tells you that, you would think that it is a compliment. But that is not necessarily the case every time. If you don’t know what I mean, just have a look below.

So before you go bragging to your buddies about how some hot chick told you that you look like a celebrity, do yourself a favor and do a Google image search. Sometimes the person you look like may not even be…. a person. continue reading →

Joffrey-Bitch-Slapped-by-Tyrion

HBO’s Game of Thrones has been, by far, the best show on television this year and I watch is religiously for the cool scenes, action, and of course boobs.  If you love the show as much as I do then I know you hate the Lannister family and especially that inbred little weasel Joffrey Baratheon Lannister.  I can’t wait to see him ripped to pieces but for now seeing him bitch slapped by his uncle Tyrion is satisfying.  Hit the jump to see Joffrey get slapped by Tyrion for 10 minutes straight.

The video does start out a bit slow at the beginning but wait till the 40 second mark for the real action to start :) continue reading →
