Casio G-Shock GravityMaster Watches

We recently wrote about the Casio G-Shock Mt-G metal watches that were more expensive than the resin watches we’re used to, now Casio is adding more watches that can be considered a bit on the expensive side. The latest set of watches is the G-Shock GravityMaster GPW100 series.

The Gravity Master is the first Casio watch that combines Multi-Band Atomic timekeeping with GPS; the technology is called “GPS Hybrid Waveceptor 2”. The low power consumption GPS system is developed by Sony, the system uses GPS to determine the watch’s position and then using one of the six atomic clock transmitters located around the world, adjust the watch’s time automatically to the correct local time and it also accounts for daylight savings time. The watch adjust time up to 6 times per day, depending on where you are.

The watch measures 66mm x 56mm x 18.8mm and weighs 126 grams. These watches have the typical G-Shock look; the GravityMaster watches feature a carbon fiber-look dial with three subdials, a day window between the 2 and 4 o’clock positions, and a date window at 4:30.

These watches also come with features we’ve come to expect from G-Shock. The watches are solar powered, shock resistant, and 200 meter water resistant. The watches come with 40 time zones, alarm, chronograph, and countdown timer.

The Casio G-Shock GravityMeter watches come in three color options: Black (GPW1000-1B), Black with blue and red highlights (GPW1000-1A), and Black with bronze highlights and orange straps (GPW1000-4A). These watches are priced $950 each. Via: Casio
