Bushido Tactical Shooters Belt – A Tactical Belt for Regular People

Over the last few months I’ve been on a quest to find a new belt.

I’ve been looking for something that’s super strong, rigid, reasonably stylish, and not made out of leather. That may sounds straightforward, but my quest has been anything but easy. I’ve gone through a handful of promising belts, and all of them are resting in a pile on the floor, waiting to be donated. That is, all but one: the Bushido Tactical Shooters Belt.

Because this is “just a belt”, and no one wants to hear me wax poetic about a strip of fabric used to hold one’s pants up, I’m going to blast through this review at a break-neck pace and quickly explain why I’m absolutely in love with this belt, and why you shouldn’t judge it too harshly for being a “tactical belt”. As I explained in the catchy title up top, this is a tactical belt that regular people can wear and not feel embarrassed. I promise.

Here’s what the buckle looks like up close:

In case you’re wondering, this is a Cobra buckle. Think Gi Joe and you won’t be far off, as much like the evil Cobra, this buckle is made to withstand just about any level of abuse. That’s good and well, but what I really like about the Cobra buckle is that it makes taking my pants off easier. I just got home from the climbing gym, started writing, and when it came time to take photos, I clicked the buttons and boom, no pants.

Feel free to imagine me writing this review without pants, because that’s actually what I’m doing right now. You’re welcome.

Here you can see the buckle unlatched; it may be tactical, but it’s not all that complicated. Oh, and the Cobra buckle makes a very satisfying sound when you insert it. Trust me on this one… you’ll be showing all your friends at the bar.

So… it’s a belt with a nice buckle? Well yes, but there’s more to it than that.

Because the belt is made for shooters, people who carry gun holders, the entire thing needs to be extremely rigid. Let me tell you, it succeeds wonderfully. I’m excited about this because, the main problem with all my other belts is that they would sort of… warp, and slump in the middle. So much so that I would have to either cinch them stupidly tight, or just let my pants drag along the ground depending on which shoes I was wearing. Not cool, and thankfully not the case with this particular tactical belt.

It’s nice and rigid, which means I can actually keep it a bit looser than with my old, flimsy belts. Nice! No more pants dragging along the ground, no more restricted breathing.

Yes, it’s just a belt… but it’s a sturdy belt that looks great and functions even better, whether I’m wearing a pair of jeans around town for the night, or sending routes at the local climbing gym. I don’t say this often, but this is truly the best belt, tactical or otherwise, that I’ve ever used. If this sounds like a hard sell, it’s just because I like it so much.

You can pick up your own Bushido Tactical Operators/Shooters belt on their official website for $64.94. The belts come in black (pictured), Coyote Tan, or OD.
