Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT Watch

Breitling has added a new watch to their Transocean line of watches, with the traveler in mind.  The watch, Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT, adds a second time zone for the “nomadic soul”.

The Transocean line of watches is relatively new and the design on these watches is retro-inspired, that’s one of the reasons I like these watches a lot, they’re not over-the-top like many other Breitling watches.

The Transocean Chronograph GMT watches look basically like the original Transoceans, but instead of a tachymeter on the outer edges of the dial, the GMT has the 24 hour clock (the home time zone).  The case measures 43 mm and is offered in stainless steel, limited to 2,000 pieces, and 18k rose gold, limited to 200 pieces.  Buyers also have the option to choose a black or white guilloche dial.

The dial doesn’t look too busy; it has the standard 3-hands and the 4th for GMT.  There are three sub-dials for the chronograph and a date window at the 4:30 position.  The dial is covered with AR coated sapphire crystal and the case-back lets you look at the heart of the watch, covered with sapphire crystal.

The Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT watches are powered by the COSC certified Breitling Caliber B04 automatic movements with 70 hours of power reserve.  The movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and comes with 47 jewels.

The stainless steel Transocean Chronograph GMT is priced at $8,890 with a black leather strap, optional steel mesh bracelet is available.  The 18k rose gold version is priced at $23,750 and comes with a black crocodile leather strap.  Via: Breitling
