Boosted Board – Electric Skateboard

A couple of months ago, I wrote about the Marbel Board which is the world’s lightest electric skateboard. I’m no skateboarder but I would totally hop on an electric board. And today, you’ll meet the Boosted Board, another electric skateboard. This one used to be the lightest electric skateboard but unfortunately for these guys, the Marbel Board stole that title.

What’s awesome about about skateboarding is going down hill at high speeds. And what I dislike most about skateboards is going up a hill. Unless you’ve got the energy, most people just end up carrying the skateboard in their hands and walk up the hill. But thanks to electric-modes of transportation and new technologies, electric motors are being implemented everywhere including boards.

The Boosted Board may not be the lightest but it’s still fairly light at only 15 pounds. If you’re one of those people who take their vehicle for even the shortest of trips, you may want to consider this product….or maybe consider walking. And if you live six miles from work, the Boosted Board will definitely get you there. With a maximum range of six miles and a top speed of 20mph, this is definitely a handy mode of transportation.

This is perfect for traveling around the university campus, getting to work (if within six mile range), and taking care of small errands. Also an awesome way to avoid the rush hour.

The Boosted Board can be charged in only 90 minutes and the device also features the ability to control the power flow depending on your skill level. Its Bluetooth compatible thumb-wheel is used to control the speed of the board giving you the freedom to control your pace. There are a number of sensors which ensure that the riding experience is flawless.

Each Boosted Board is made-to-order so there is a waiting period. It should also be noted that this was a successfully funded Kickstarter project a couple of years ago. The boards are designed and built in California. This electric-board features a flexible bamboo deck, dual brushless outrunner motors, fast charge port, lithium-iron phosphate battery, regenerative braking, and a wireless Bluetooth remote to control modes/speed.

The Boosted Board can be pre-ordered for a hefty price tag of $1,995. Unless I’m missing some important information, the Marbel Board seems like a WAY better deal with a price tag of $1,299, top speed of 20mph, and a range of 10+ miles.
