BMW M6 Coupe & Convertible

The BMW 6-Series is a very conservative looking coupe. Its performance oriented sibling, the all-new 2013 M6, does have a bit more of an aggressive look to it but it’ll knock your socks off when it comes to performance.

BMW just announced the 2013 M6 Coupe and Convertible and will be unveiling them to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March and New York Auto Show in April.  The M6 is pretty much an M5 with 2 doors and identical performance figures.  The 2013 BMW M6 is powered by the same turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 engine that’s found in the M5 with identical 560 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque.  All those ponies are sent to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic transmission that helps the M6 Coupe reach the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in 4.2 seconds and the M6 Cabriolet in 4.3 seconds.  BMW might offer a manual transmission on the M6 at a later date.

BMW hasn’t released any weight figures on the coupe and convertible, but judging by the carbon fiber roof on the coupe, we have a good feeling the new M6 will weigh less than the car it replaces.  The 2013 BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible will go on sale in the summer. No word yet on starting prices for the two models.
