BMW M5 “30 Jahre M5” – Celebrating 30 Years of the M5

The BMW M5 used to be the ultimate executive sports sedan, a sedan that could carry 4 adults in comfort, around the track. It’s still an amazing car but now it has a lot of competition, the car pretty much started the mid-size sports sedan segment 30 years ago.

To celebrate this milestone, BMW is releasing a limited production M5 called the “30 Jahre M5”; which translates to “30 Years M5”. Only 300 of these special edition F10 M5s will be produced and will probably be priced around the $100,000 mark, if you can find one.

The 30th anniversary BMW M5 sees a bit of a power upgrade thanks to tweaks made to the engine management software and the turbocharger. The car is powered by the 4.4 liter TwinPower turbocharged V8 engine that now produces 600 PS (592 horsepower) and 516 pound-feet of torque. The special edition M5 also comes standard with the competition package (an option on regular M5), which includes stiffer sway bars, 10 mm lower suspension, and reprogramed M Dynamic Mode.

The M5 is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. The sports sedan is able to hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph or 190 mph with the M Driver’s Package.

The 30th anniversary BMW M5 is painted in “Individual Frozen Dark Silver” color and rides on 20” wheels. The “30 Jahre M5” badges are found throughout the interior and exterior of the car. Via: BMW
