Autodromo Stradale Watches

A couple of years ago the world was introduced to Autodromo watches, these watches take their design inspirations from car gauges from the 1960’s and 1970’s. A lot of car and watch blogs were pretty excited about these relatively inexpensive watches, our very own Eddie seemed to be pretty excited about them as well.

The company has now released their flagship watch line, the Autodromo Stradale; these watches are more expensive than their previous watches but are still priced under $1,000.

The Stradale line of watches get their design inspiration from gauges from 1950’s Italian Grand Touring cars, the watches “evoke the age of Gran Turismo, when driving across the continent involved more than hopping on an expressway.”

The Stradale watches have a very clean and clutter-free design, and the dials do look like something out of classic Italian automobiles. The way the numbers on the dials are displayed might not be to everyone’s liking, with numbers from 5-8 being upside down (compared to traditional watches). If you can live with that, the overall watch design is great.

The dial features three hands, with a grey hour and red minute hand, and there’s a date window next to the 3 o’clock index. The dial is covered with a domed crystal and the see-through caseback gives a glimpse into the inner workings of the Miyota 9015 self-winding automatic movement with hacking feature.

The Autodromo Stradale watches come in 40mm stainless steel cases and are water resistant to 50 meters. Customers can choose from three different colors combinations: Grey dial with blue leather straps, Black dial with burgundy straps, and Beige dial with brown leather straps. The watchmaker also includes a vintage 1960’s map with these watches, encouraging you to go on a road trip.

The Autodromo Stradale watches are priced at $875 each. Via: Autodromo
