Aquabot Robotic Fish – Maintenance-Free Pet

Based on the life span of my two previous pets, I can say with confidence that I am a terrible pet owner. The only pets I’ve ever owned were two Siamese Fighting Fish and they both died within 10 days of being in my custody. The sad thing is, Siamese Fighting Fish are supposed to be one of the easiest fish to take care of. I don’t know what happened but long story short, they died from some sort of fungus growth even though I followed all instructions.

And I don’t have time to take care of a furry mammal so the Aquabot is a pretty cool option for someone like myself. Lucky for these Aquabot fish, they are the non-breathing type of pets. They look like a fish, swim like a fish, don’t smell like fish, and best of all – don’t need to be fed or looked after.

The folks over Hexbug Towers are the creators of the Aquabot. They first made robotic insects and have now expanded with the creation of micro robotic clown fish and sharks. The “fish” move around with realistic movements and actions such as diving down, changing directions, and swimming autonomously. The Aquabot have an automatic on/off switch meaning they will turn on when coming in contact with water and just as easily turn off when taken out of the water.

Using “smart fish technology”, the Aquabots use electro-magnetic propulsion allowing them lifelike swimming action as it zips through water. These fish are available in ten translucent colors which allow you to see the working mechanisms on the inside. To save battery, the Aquabot even has an auto shut-off after five minutes.

Even if you don’t have a fish tank, the kids will enjoy swimming with the fishes during bath time. Each Aquabot will cost approximately $11 and can be ordered from here.
