Amazing 10 Year Old Opera Singer from America’s Got Talent – Jackie Evancho

Now I don’t usually make posts about stuff like this but watching tonight’s episode of America’s Got Talent, I just had to share this video with you.

The opera singer is 10 year old Jackie Evancho, from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  Boy can this little girl sing, her voice sounds like a professional opera singer, at first I thought it was fake! Listen to the song below, it gave me goosebumps.

Jackie Evancho America’s Got Talent Final Performance

If you’ve got a soul, then you’re going to absolutely love this performance. I think it’s about time I start taking some singing lessons.

And here you can listen to more of her beautiful singing. Her voice is truly like an angel, and I don’t feel that way very often. I’m excited to see where her career goes as she gets older.

I hope you enjoyed Jackie’s singing as much as I did. If you’ve got a favorite clip of your own, feel free to leave us a comment and we’ll do our best to add it to the original article.

  1. Holy smokes, Jackie Evancho is superb, brilliant, amazing, supreme and many words I don’t know.

She got two standing ovations from the judges, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. I had other favorites in the show but now I’m 99.9% sure Jackie is going to win the 2010 season of America’s Got Talent!!

I’m still at a loss for words, I have never seen so much talent especially in such a young person!

    • Sorry folks but it’s the Millie Vanille of the Opera world! It is SO incredibly obvious to me thet her performance was lip synched without question, and rather poorly at tha. I hate being duped, so many people will follow little red riding hood like lost sheep and be oh so surprised when the scandal hits-smarten up now folks-it’s a scam!Even her weal attempt at singing a few bars live tonight was rather lame-no range whatsoever of the alleged talents; that she didn’t repeat a few bars from her previous performance was rather sketchy and highly suspect.

      • I think Pierce set it up nicely, he said something like “anything can happen, someone can lose their voice…”

If Jackie Evanco does happen to get “sick” or something we’ll know for sure it was all fake.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

      • This Girl has MAJOR talent. I at first thought it was no way that that was her voice on the microphone. But then i searched youtube, and found this video, where she sings “O Holy night” : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHPHnlYi3V0. I studied her throat and her lips in the entire video to the music in this one were PERFECT. Her throat throbs as she is singing(when you can see it), and you can clearly see her take breaths. Stop being jealous and be in awe of a girl with raw talent. Also, she is not just an opera singer. Search her on youtube before making a judgement on one song. She is performing a Carnegie Hall. On dec 2nd as well.

      • What is obvious is that Steve Wilson does not know what he is talking about. Even a novice knows that video and audio are often out of sync on the internet particularly during high use periods. First, the microphone is on – you can hear large amounts of air being taken into her lungs. That air is going to her singing. Second, her lips are vibrating with the vibrato when video and audio are in sync. Third, at one point she pulls away from the microphone and the audio noticeably decreases. Fourth, the notes she sang the next night were spur of the moment with no music and no melody. Steve needs to get real.

I would like to hear her sing more. I so enjoyed listening to her performance over and over and over. What a god given gift. You go Jackie. Sing your heart out. There are people like me who believe in you and your talent..It is a good feeling to know that some things that are too good to be true really are true. Your parents better treat you and your talents with alot of love and care and nurture you on your journey to stardom.

Just watched it on your site and wow is all I can say!!! She has an amazing voice, she’s going to be a superstar, Justin Bieber’s got nothing on her 😉

  11. Are you guys kidding me? Yes, she’s good at opera, but you guys are treating her like she’s an angel on earth! There could be someone singing for her behind the curtain for all we know! and besides, we already had one opera singer win america’s got talent 1 year ago, it wouldn’t be fair for all the other contestants! There’s shows for singers, they should be there and not in AGT! Everyone’s fawning all over here because she’s CUTE and YOUNG. Focus on the talent, people! We don’t need more singers on AGT!

    Reply
    • I agree with you on some aspects of AGT, the fact that singers have it easy because all they have to do is change a song and they’re done. I’m not saying singing is easy but if you can sing, then it wouldn’t be too hard to sing different songs.

All other acts have to come up with different routines every week, which IMO is a lot harder than singing.

As for Jackie, she is good and deserves the attention. She is a million times better than Justin Bieber and he’s getting a lot of attention, I’d rather listen to this girl all day than hear Justin Beiber’s name 😉

    • Melody – an opera singer did not win AGT one year ago unless you consider Kevin Skinner as an opera singer. Perhaps the problem with comparisons with an angel is that either you don’t believe in angels or you have a problem taking people so literally.

Odd as it may seem to some of you, there really ARE angels on the the earth here to remind all of us that God not only listens to us, he sings to us as well to open our hearts and souls at this difficult time we are all living in. She is amazing, a brilliant light that I pray others will not diminish. She needs to win……….

  17. Yes, Little Jackie Evancho is a gifted singer but this was hardly her first stage performance. She has already been singing for David Foster and she & her brother Jacob have been performing for years. I think we were led to believe that she is new to this and was just now “discovered” on YouTube by AGT . Still, I would pay to see her in concert. I’m just commenting to keep it real.
It certainly will help her career that she is also a natural beauty and she has two musically talented parents dedicated to training their little prodigies. . I suggest to TV talent shows to tell us the whole truth about contestants. I’m glad I happened to catch the show tonight. CAROL-Chgo IL

    • A video was submitted by her family to the on-line AGT audition and people reviewed and voted. It was not much more complicated than that. Perhaps the fact that she had been singing at fairs, ball games, in rest homes, at Christmas parties, for companies that had employee meeting and invited her to perform, performances at school, etc should have disqualified her. I don’t think so. Oh yes, she does have a CD but not with a label. It’s an independent deal. Perhaps that should disqualify her as well. Do you suppose? Yes, we need contestants that just drop out of nowhere like the morning dews.

I know FOR SURE, without a doubt that she is the real thing! I was sitting so very close and you could hear her real voice when she was singing away from the microphone! It was really her singing! She brought tears to our eyes. She is so good, you want to believe it’s fake – but it’s not – I was there sitting right in front of her! She’s amazing!

It’s amazing what people who have not a clue will say these days as if having an opinion and an online computer makes them an expert about things they know little to nothing about. And then to have them write things as if their groundless opinions are fact. It’s the age in which we live.

  36. I am 99 per cent convinced this performance was not a fraud.
The one thing that bugs me is that on three occasions, Jackie forms an O with her mouth when you hear an E.
I also know that with wireless mics, (and this one looked wired), that signal can go to a remote receiver close-by, under the noses of the stage sound technical staff by retransmitting with a live sync vocalist mixed together. I also know that FM digital transmissions are either off or on. It’s the same effect you get when two iPods transmitting on the same FM frequency pass each other, they trade receive dominance momentarily as they pass. So technically a hard to detect modified signal is possible on the same frequency without distortion or doubling.
    I hope I am wrong.

Having studied opera at 11 years of age-17years of age, myself, I wish her the very best and pray she has a wonderful life, using her voice as she is now. There is a place in this world for good music. Everyone is not addicted to hard rock, country, jazz, R&B, pop, etc. There are those of us who love to hear a voice with natural talent and training sing everyday songs with just a little bit more voice!! Simon Cowell knows talent when he hears it! I will give him credit where credit is due!

But this little girl you can tell she is not pushed, she is such a professional when she talks and obvisously when she sings. She is so relaxed when she talks to people and sings rather than the kids that are being pushed by the parents. This girl was just on the Jay Leno show and sang this Opera song that even adults would have a hard time singing and she sings it perfectly. I guarantee you even though she didn’t win America’s Got Talent talent agents and other music managers were or are knocking on her door ASAP and want to get her signed ASAP.

They relied on people having a deaf ear to classical music and Opera..I predicted in the beginning of all of this that Carnegie Hall was a false booking, publicity stunt if you will and the event would never come to pass.I could never believe that they would subject this girls voice to the real critics. Two days ago rumors are flying. She canceled Carnegie Hall. Here is the funny part. if you go the the Carnegie Hall website they do not even show her ever being listed for a guest appearance. Her Dad was in the marketing business. Well now that makes sense.

  52. Wow, some people are really stupid! Jackie was indeed listed to perform on December 2 with Tim Janis on the official Carnegie Hall website until recently, however due to other obligations (I believe she is set to be taping a guest appearance on iCarly at the same time as the concert at Carnegie Hall is scheduled to take place), she had no choice but to cancel. Still, quite a few websites such as this one: https://eventful.com/newyorkcity/events/jackie-evancho-/E0-001-031440110-9 still have the information listed.

  53. No, She was never listed at the Carnegie Hall website, even as far back as August. The only thing that ever disclosed this was parents making statement to different newspapers. Gee, I can tell a newspaper I will be booked anywhere and have it printed. Oldest publicity stunt in the world. These people will defend all their lies.Think about it, why would any serious singer choose a guest appearance over Carnegie Hall.

  55. The thing that convinces me she’s performing live with her own voice is the sound of her breath. It’s a high pitch when she breathes in, suggesting a small windpipe, the breath of a child. Although the notes coming out may be resonant and large, the breath and certain consonant sounds definitely belong to a pre-teen.

She’s definitely won me over, not only because she has exceptionally good technical foundations for singing, but also because she knows how to add the ornamentation and flare. Many singers in these competitions know how to do the fancy bits, but just don’t have the stamina for consistent vocal delivery. Even if her performances aren’t 100% perfect in every way, it’s clear from every note she sings that she has got the foundations well and truly down.

  56. When are these proven wrong naysayers going to come on here and with red faces, admit they were totally wrong? Was it just jealous rage which drove you, or are you honest persons willing to admit you were wrong? Jackie Evancho has given many live performances singing up to 14 songs to live audiences with standing ovations. She has a platinum O Holy Night album and her new Dream With Me album will likely go platinum within three more months.

And who was the original singer she was supposedly lipsynching according to these intelligencia? Why isn’t that singer famous and making her own albums? No, it was Jackie singing wasn’t it? Live. Kind of hard to lipsynch an entire album of 14 or 18 songs without any real talent, is it not? Perfect pitch. Almost perfect tonal control. At 11 years of age, 3.5 + octaves. A very strong work ethic. An album producer’s dream come true. Wait til she is 17. That girl has talent like no other.

  58. I’m a grown man but I reach for the Kleenex every time I hear this beautiful voice. But will she be able to handle so much success at such a young age? I hope and pray that she will keep her innocence. God bless and keep you Jackie !

  59. I know this young girl is fantastic, but she would be so much better if she did not hold the microphone so close to her mouth, sometimes it is hard to know what she is singing about, he words are not coming out real clear, but her voice is beautiful.
