Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde (QV)

Alfa Romeo cars haven’t been available in North America for quite some time, after Fiat bought (or merged with) Chrysler, they did introduce the 4C sports car to North America. Now we hear they’re bringing their new sedan here, the all-new Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio Verde (QV).

The car is all-new and is the first rear wheel drive car to come out of Alfa factory in more than 20 years, it was presented in Milan, with the company showing the most hardcore version of the car to journalists, the QV.

Looks of cars, and everything else in life, are subjective but man am I liking the styling on the Guilia QV. It looks very beefy and compact at the same time, it looks like it means business and there’s plenty of Italian flare. Other cars in this segment better watch out, I think we have a stunner. The exterior styling does remind me a bit of the Infiniti Q50 (especially from the side), but more compact and refined version of it. As my Italian friends would say, bella macchina!

What’s under the hood of the Guilia QV is also a beautiful piece of engineering and it produces some very amazing music, see video below. The car is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 engine that’s tuned by Ferrari to produce 503 horsepower (510 PS). The M3, C63 AMG, RS4, and ATS-V’s lives just got a little harder, there’s a new player on the field and he wants all the attention! According to Alfa Romeo, the Guilia QV reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds.

The Alfa Romeo Guilia will be offered with quite a few engine options in lower trim, including 4-cylinder and I believe less powerful V6 engines, and AWD will also be offered.

The Guilia QV is constructed out of lightweight materials like aluminum, carbon fiber, aluminum composites to keep the weight down; according to the Italian car maker, the Guilia QV should have the best power to weight ratio in this segment. The car also has a 50/50 weight distribution and is rumored to weigh around the 1,500 kg mark.

We’re not sure when the Guilia will be available in North America, in Europe it should go on sale by the end of the year. I can’t wait to see some comparison videos of this car against the above mentioned competition.
