A Train Runs Through It (Bangkok Market)

The video below is taken at the famous Maeklong Market in Bangkok, which is also known as the “Folding Umbrella Market.”  The nickname comes from the fact that when the train comes, they fold everything out of the way. When it’s gone, everything gets opened back up!

It is a pretty good concept; they save a lot of space without anyone getting hurt, except for a casualty or two once in a while. When you watch the video, pay close attention to the middle left of the screen starting at the 1:40 mark to see what I’m talking about.

Pretty cool, right? If you’re ever in Bangkok, now you’ve got something to check out. I mean, along with all the other awesome things people do in Bangkok.
