5 Cool Cars You Can’t Buy in Canada

There are a handful of cars available in Canada that you can’t buy in many other markets around the world, but not too many. On the other hand, there is a huge list of cars that you can’t buy in Canada; some of these cars are pretty cool, and we really lust for them. Unfortunately, there either isn’t enough demand for them, or there’s too much government red tape and the manufacturers can’t be bothered with changing their cars for the small Canadian market.

Below is a list of 5 cool cars that are not available in Canada, vehicles we wish we could get our hands on.

Land Rover Defender

One of our favorite SUVs, the Defender has been around for many decades with styling that hasn’t changed much. The Defender was available in Canada and the USA for a short while, but currently you can’t get your hands on a new one.

The Defender is a no-nonsense tough off-road vehicle that’s used on safaris, on farms, in the military, and even as a rescue vehicle in remote locations. It’s also a favorite among luxury tuners, being tuned to produce more power and its utilitarian interior upgraded with leather and Alcantara.

Holden Commodore/Vauxhall VXR8/Chevrolet SS

The Holden Commodore is a favorite amongst Australian GT car lovers; the car is big, can seat 5 people, and performs like a muscle car. You can buy a brand new one of the showroom or pick up one of the many used examples at dealerships like John Hughes.

The car is available in the United Kingdom as the Vauxhall VXR8 and our American friends can buy it as the Chevrolet SS. If you want one of these cars in Canada, you can buy a used Pontiac G8 or import a Chevy SS.

Weismann Roadster MF4

Wiesmann Roadster MF4 Rear

The MF4 Roadster or any other Weismann cars can’t be bought in Canada. The MF4 roadster is pure sexiness with its retro styling on the outside and modern technology under the skin. Powered by a BMW 4.0 liter V8 engine producing 367 horsepower, these cars are not only head turners but they can also keep up with most modern roadsters.

Audi RS6 Avant

Audi RS cars are known for their sports car-like performance; some RS cars are available in Canada but some can’t be bought here for some odd reason. The RS6 Avant (station wagon) is one such car that can’t be bought in Canada.

The RS6 Avant is best of both worlds, with plenty of room for the kids/clients/friends and lots of cargo area, and plenty of power to put most sports cars to shame. The RS6 Avant is powered by a turbocharged TFSI V8 engine producing 552 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta

I believe the Chrysler 200 is based on the Giulietta, but it’s not the same thing and has been de-tuned for the North American market. The Giulietta is a very sexy looking hatchback and is packed full of Italian flair. The car is powered by a small 1.4 liter turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine or can also be equipped with a 2.0 liter diesel engine producing 170 horsepower.
