The Nissan Z coupe was one of my favorite affordable sports cars, I still like it but it ain’t affordable no more. The current generation 370Z is almost at the end of its lifecycle, but Nissan still gave the car some attention in the form of the newly upgraded 370Z Nismo. The car will be shown at the annual ZDAYZ event in North Carolina (currently in progress).
The 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine that produces 350 horsepower and 276 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or a new optional 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and rev-matching.
The biggest change on the new car is its visual upgrades, the car’s bodywork is said to be inspired by the GTR. The front features a larger air-intake area with a chin spoiler with red highlights and LED day time running lights. The red accents are also found on the sides and at the back of the car. In my opinion, the front looks much better than the older Nismo Z. At the back, Nissan also added a ducktail spoiler; and the car rides on charcoal painted 19” Rays twin-spoke wheels.
The red accent is continued on the inside, with black leather Recaro seats that have Alcantara center inserts. The steering wheel is wrapped with suede for better grip and there’s a 7” navigation screen with backup camera, available with the new optional Tech Package.
The 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo will go on sale in July.
