2013 Audi RS4 Avant

Just because you get older, more “responsible”, and have a couple of kids to haul around to <insert sport here> practices doesn’t mean you can’t still drive a muscle car.  The 2013 Audi RS4 Avant (station wagon) is a sophisticated muscle car that’ll leave pretty much every “soccer mom” in the dust!

The Audi RS4 Avant is powered by a beastly 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 444 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque; the power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic automatic transmission.  The RS4 Avant accelerates to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) that can be lifted to 174 mph upon request.  Now your kids won’t’ have an excuse for being late for practice.

Audi RS4 Avant Front

On the outside, the Audi RS4 Avant looks like just another grocery getter, only the sharp-eyed will notice the subtle differences which include larger 19” wheels, subtle fender flares, dual exhaust tips, and a rear diffuser.  The interior is typical Audi with lots of luxurious leather surfaces and aluminum trim.  The driver and passenger seats look like they came out of a supercar and should provide plenty of lateral support as you weave in and out of parking lots.

The 2013 Audi RS4 Avant will be available in Germany in the fall of 2012 with a starting price of €76,600 (about $100,000), no word yet on whether the RS4 Avant will make to North American shores or at what price.
